Sommerloft: Ogoya Nengo & The Dodo Women’s Group
Badeschiff Berlin, Eichenstraße 4, 12435 Berlin
This Kenyan folk artist is supposed to master in a very personal way a local music genre called Dodo – Dodo singers are social messengers and storytellers, they perform in all sorts of public functions and events, similar traditions are to be found in many cultures, possibly including your own – you may wanna search ‘marriage in Naples’ on Youtube to get an idea about how cheesy their outputs can get in Italy, yet I would place this concert in the non-cheesy realm and go for it and enjoy the great location right on the Spree.

SNEERS (It) + MARGARET UNKNOWN (At) + HANZEL & STORMY WINTERS dj set
8Mm Bar, Schönhauser Allee 177B, 10119 Berlin
I have seen Sneers live yesterday, on the occasion of a special matinée in F’hain you may have overlooked, and all I can say is: Great live band. A very good example of the current Italian underground scene, shaking your bones with drums, voice and guitar. There’s this second chance to see them in Berlin that also features the Austrian Berlin based Margareth Unknown. Do take advantage of it.

GRAND JETÉ w/ Byetone, Hitchie Rawtin, Lucrecia Dalt & the VSQ
OHM, Köpenicker Str. 70, 10179 Berlin
Second episode of what could very well become my favourite clubbing night in Berlin. I love seeing big names in such a small place – this time no less than Herr Nitchie Rawtih aka Mlastikpan – coupled with smaller yet always interesting names. You can walk there from Alex and it’s not starting that crazy late, i.e. you can check the main set and still work the day after – in case you happen to be an elder busy lady like me. And you can dance.

SciArt Café
betahaus, Prinzessinnenstraße 19/20, 10969 Berlin
Suddenly it’s Friday and the whole Berlin weekend looks indeed quite busy – this blog is not the place to promote huge festivals you already know about – but maybe you do need some food for thought rather than another party. Find it here. Meet the art&science avantgarde AKA a bunch of nice passionate people willing to present and discuss edgy inspiring projects such as IGEM and Metacode.
