Occulto got again a table at Indiemagday – Free Trade Zone fro Printed Goods at Oberhafen Hamburg. Indiemagday takes place right after the Indiecon festival and celebrates the diversity of independent magazines and their fearless micropublishers.

Occulto is participating again in Miss Read, the Berlin based art book fair that brings together a wide selection of the most interesting artists/authors, artist periodicals and art publishers and is accompanied by a series of lectures, discussions, book launches and workshops exploring the boundaries of contemporary publishing and the possibilities of the book. For the second time in the beautiful spaces of Akademie der Künste at Hanseatenweg.

So far I have visited Graz only once, 13 years ago, while it was the so-called European Capitals of Culture. In the meanwhile I have started a magazine, I have read some novels by Wolf Haas and I still love Austria. What else? I will have a table at the fair + give a talk titled “Together in Occulto Dreams”.

Occulto’s mom Alice Cannavà will be part of a public performative talk at HKW on April 19th, together with the experimental publishing collective continent., Lionel Ruffel (literary scholar), and Adania Shibli (writer). Moderated by Bernard Geoghegan (cultural historian). Expect stories, opinions and performative acts in regards of interdisciplinary publishing, knowledge sharing and more! Free entrance. The evening is part of Technosphere × Knowledge, the second event of the Technosphere (2015-18).

This is one of my favourite independent publishers’ fair. It is so good that it’s not even a fair, it’s a salon. It’s curated and made with love, well visited, fun, it takes place in one of the best independent art/music/culture venue of Milano and every time I go there I meet a lot of people I love, I sell fine and I start new collaborations – what else. Thanks to Dafne Boggeri for putting together the magic for the third time; Occulto will be there, the whole (as usual rich) program will be online soon and and and. Join.

Indiecon 2015 is a juicy Hamburg based events that explores the world of independent from the point of view of the makers: how to start it, how to organize it, how to pay the bills. Tell me about it. After two days of conferences reserved to paying guest (only 100 seats available, but you can still give it a try at indieforever.de) there will a public day on the 30th, where a selection of makers will sell their printed matters – interested readers are indeed the best way to pay bills, Occulto will be there, come and visit if you can, or tell your Hamburg based friends about it!
