Occulto is an independent magazine that brings together science, humanities and the arts, with a focus on natural and formal sciences, their history and cultures.

Occulto features original artists’ projects and a compilation of experimental music selected by Onga of Boring Machines is released with every issue.

Occulto experiments with different ways to narrate science and explores the potential of an interdisciplinary approach opened to deviance, irony and autobiography. Its research also questions past and present attempts to find shortcuts to knowledge (and power), the fascination towards the irrational and revealed truths.

Occulto is published on paper in English language but its website includes a blog section. A program of music and arts events in several Berlin venues is connected to and informed by the magazine.

Occulto is a weird creature designed, edited and curated by Alice Cannavà in collaboration with a constantly evolving and growing group of contributors and editors. The guest editor of our latest issue Occulto 7: Art-I-Ficial was the researcher for ecologies and the arts Sina Ribak.
