Science Slam im Planetarium

Zeiss-Großplanetarium, Prenzlauer Allee 80, 10405 Berlin

A climax of 10-minute presentations by young scientists in the beautiful Berlin Planetarium – a giant blue ball in the night, possibly known to some of the braves Neuköllners that ventured north of Alexander Platz. Good communication between the scientific community and the general public is more and more important these days, and can start and develop itself in playful ways as well, juhu!

Math Creations – Exhibition

SPEKTRUM, Bürknerstr 12, 12047 Berlin, Germany

Math creations for Art, Design and Mathematics – my vague intention to participate in the contest got lost on the way. Uff. Anyways: I can go and see what people that can remember and respect deadlines came up with! And possibly get inspired, or jealous, or puzzled, and yes, maybe next time. Don’t run, mathematics is your friend – and Euclid’s Elements is still one of the best selling book of all time.

SYN / CUSSION

Radialsystem V, Holzmarktstraße 33, 10243 Berlin

“The SYN / CUSSION Festival is all about combining percussive instruments and electronic sound generators.” This is a quite simple and powerful concept, and if you take a look at the impressive list of talented artists – Andrew Pekler, Marta Zapparoli, Jan Jelinek and Will Guthrie among others – that has been gathered around it (and often challenged to try new collaborations) by an organiser/curator such as Hanno Leichtmann, in a location such as Radialsystem, well I guess you may be ready to buy your ticket, which is even less expensive than you may think.

Multiversal #73

XB Liebig, Friedrichshain, Berlin

There are several reasons to attend this gig – support Multiversal, support the hosting venue, enjoy the whole, rich and good line up – but in this specific case I’d like to stress the fact that a live set by amigo tropical is an experience you and your ears must do – and repeat if you did already.
